French Earl Grey
Here’s how to make a proper French Earl Grey. Start with premium, organic black tea. Infuse with fragrant bergamot oil. Then layer in rose petals, peppery calendula (also known as marigold) and cornflowers. Suddenly you’ve got something really interesting: a complex brew with floral hops and some earthy, clove-like spice. The French prefer a flowery Earl Grey, and you can add all sorts of things to this basic mix: lavender petals, dandelion leaves, dried apple pieces or black peppercorns. It’s really down to personal taste. When your kitchen smells like a Parisian garden, you’ll know you’re on the right track. Bon appetite. Ingredients: Black Tea, Bergamot Oil, Rose Petals, Calendula & Cornflowers.
Masala Chai
A good Masala Chai should stick to a few simple rules. You want to use green cardamom pods, not black. The ginger should be fresh and hot. Don’t add more than one or two cloves (for obvious, very pungent reasons). And of course, use the highest grade black tea you can find. Our signature Masala Chai is hand-blended from 100% organic black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger, star anise and black peppercorns. It’s a silky brew: aromatic and mysterious, full of malty bass notes, sweet honey, citrus and spice. It’s so fresh, you don’t even need milk: just infuse 2 tablespoons in hot water for three minutes.
Enjoy your tea in a good old fashioned China tea-cup. Each of our rooms has a personality set, up-cycled for a better life.
